Management Planner

Also: Asbestos Management Planner

An AHERA-accredited professional who develops a school building's asbestos management plan, interpreting inspection findings and recommending response actions.

A management planner is an AHERA-accredited professional who takes an asbestos inspector’s findings for a school building and turns them into a management plan: which materials need what response action, on what schedule, and how they’ll be reassessed.

AHERA requires public and non-profit private schools to have a current management plan developed by an accredited management planner. The plan covers response actions ranging from operations-and-maintenance programs through repair, enclosure, encapsulation, and removal.

The role pairs with the asbestos inspector, who gathers the data, and the project designer, who specifies any abatement the plan calls for.
